January 6th, 1975 with enthusiasm the challenge of serving the Community for the next two years, and that he would assist in guiding City business to the best of his ability. Alderman Ranger remarked that all priorities for good living cannot be provided at the same time; therefore, Council must decide those which are needed first. Alderman Ranger commented that after perusing the Provisional Budget it was apparent there will be an increase in taxes this year and stated that he and his colleagues would be spending many hours in establishing priorities and eliminating any excess expenditures. Alderman Ranger mentioned that the citizens could help him face the challenge of his forthcoming two years in office by continuing to express their views on civic matters and by offering constructive criticism. Alderman Ranger stated he would like to thank his colleagues for their past co-operation, his wife and members of his family for sacrifices made on his behalf, and the City's Administrative Staff for carrying out the Council's policy decisions in a very efficient manner. Alderman Ranger then expressed his appreciation to all the citizens for having faith in him and returning him to office for another term. Alderman Alderman Thompson addressed the meeting, and expressed appreciation Thompson to his family for their assistance during his illness at the time of the pre~election campaign and to all the citizens for allowing him to serve them for another two years. Alderman Thompson mentioned that it was often difficult to respond in the way everyone would like; however, ha stated he would serve with the very best of his abilities and that he was looking forward to his next two years in office. Alderman Alderman Traboulay addressed the meeting and expressed his appreciation Traboulay to all those who had helped him gain re-election as an Alderman for the City. Alderman Traboulay assured the citizens he would again be speaking out on their behalf, and that he would examine every Committee report, all correspondence directed to Council, etc., to make sure all the facts are known when delegations are present. Alderman Traboulay commented that 1975 will herald many new things for the City of Port Coquitlam, such as completion of the two new Recreation Centres, the new Fire Hall, the widening of the Lougheed Highway, etc., and that hopefully there will be a start in City-planned dwelling units, that PoCo House will function as a vital unit in the Community, that the Senior Citizens will have a more expansive programme, and that a beautification programme will be
