January 6th, 1975 The Statutory Inaugural Meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held at the Poco Valley Golf and Courtry Club, 531 Dominion Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B. C., on January 6th, 1975 at 8:00 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett; Aldermen-elect P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freemar, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., City Treasurer G.F. Forcier, City Building Inspector N. Chernoff, Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Recreation Director Janna Taylor, City Planning Officer Lanson Lee, and Mrs. B.M. Aalten. His Worship Mayor J.M. OFFICIAL WELCOME: Official Welcome His Worship the Mayor then welcomed the various guests and visitors present at the meeting, expressing appreciation For services rendered by Mr. H.G. Schinz, Chairman of the Zoning Board of Variance and Members A.I. Smith and L.W. Dubois; and Dr. R.M. Heffelfinger, the City's representative on the Board of Directors, Royal Columbian Hospital; who were ali in attendance with their wives; Dr. M.F. Angus, former School Trustee; and introducing Mr. H. Nemtin of Marathon Realty Ltd., developer of the proposed shopping centre project at the South-west corner of the Lougheed Highway and Shaughnessy Street, Mr. Wm. Casson, Director of Housing, ’ Greater Vancouver Regional District, and Mr. Harvey Beech, Executive Assistant, Premier's Office, Victoria, who were also in attendance. INAUGURAL REMARKS: Inaugural Remarks Alderman Ranger addressed the meeting, stating that he accepted -Alderman Ranger
