PART-TIME CO-ORDINATOR

Northwest Development Education Association is a non-profit society
currently based in Terrace, whose Board members come from across
the Northwest. The Association’s goal is to expand the public's
awareness of the developing world.

Under the general direction of the board, the Co-ordinator will: 1)
develo and maintain contacts with relevant community groups; 2)
co-ordinate specific education and cultural events, includin
providing leadership to a volunteer team, ensuring the successtu
completion of al tasks and defining budget requirements; 3) support
the work of non-governmental organizations in the region; 4)
implement the policy decisions of the board; 5} complement the work
of the public education system in the area of development education;
6} co-ordinate the tasks required to meet all criteria of the funding
source (Canadian Internation Development Agency).

Requirements:

© excellent communication and interpersonal skills

© office management including basic bookkeeping, computer literacy
in word processing, bookkeeping and operation of a modem

® experience in development education (eg. CUSO cooperant,
OXFAM volunteer) or significant developing world experience would.
be an asset

© ability to establish a work plan in conjunction with the Board and
carry it to completion with minimal direct supervision

© some travel, regionally and provincially, will be necessary
