October 25th, 1976 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port. Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B. C. on October 25th, 1976 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, P.Tf. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., Planning Officer Lanson Lee, Recreation Director Janna Taylor, Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Works & Utilities Superintendent G. Ulmer, and Mrs. B.M. Aalten CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the minutes of the regular meering of this Council held on Minutes - Oct. 18/76 October 18th, 1976, be taken as read and adopted. Carried. DELEGATIONS : Mr. and Mrs. R. Moody were in attendance in support of thelr letter Mr.& Mrs.R. Moody & Mr. dated October 18th, 1976, requesting that the area requirement of their F.Marshall re size of pro- property lecated at 831 Prairie Avenue be waived in order that they may perty at §&31 Prairie Ave., build a new home thereon, and Mr. Fred A. Marshall, who submitted a etc. further letter on behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Moody with respect to the subject property being 5.9 square feet short of an acre, was also present. At the request of His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, the City Clerk advised he had calculated the size of the property out to the fifth decimal place which shows the shortage to be 5.89625 square feet - the actual total size of the parcel being 43,554.10375 square feet, while the size of a standard acre is 43,560 square feet. The City Cler« further explained that this property is legally described as the West half of a certain parcel of land - (there is also an East half of that parcel) - and the two halves together are noted on the Survey Plan in 1947 as being 2 acres; however, to be technically and perfectly correct the Survey Plan should have said "1.999729 acres", The City Clerk also pointed out that the division of the parcel was done by description - that is, a deed was merely filed in the Land Registry Office certifying that a certain person had bought the West half of the property. Alderman Ranger stated he had spoken to a Mr. Walter Frith, a registered Land Surveyor, and was advised by him that until recently the degree of accuracy required by
