Newsletter Budget

RECOMMENDATION:

THAT City Council authorize the Economic Development Committee to have
an economic development supplement prepared to the Community Newsletter.

AND THAT City Council authorize the Economic Development Committee to
spend up to $6,000.00 for this project.

COMMENTS:

The economic development newsletter is designed to serve in several roles. It
is intended to send out the economic development newsletter to businesses in
Port Coquitlam as a supplement to the regular City Newsletter. In addition,
the newsietter is to be included as another piece in the City's economic
development package.

This project is being brought forward to Council for approval so that work on
it can be done as part of the City's regular community newsletter. A public
relations firm, Mr. Larry Rose, has been retained to prepare the newsletter.
By having Mr. Rose do both projects at the same time there will be an economy
of scale.

In examining costs for this project and the community newsletter an inflation
factor has been added to the costs. Approval of the project, authorizing the
committee to retain Mr. Rose and have the economic development newsletter

printed is requested. ‘
