Deputy City Engineer Installation of No-Post Barricades Behind 2268 Nacht Avene and Adjacent Lots (Public Works Committee Meeting of June 1, 1993) RECOMMENDATION: That Council approve the installation of approximately 85 linear metres of concrete no-post barriers along the back properties of 2260, 2268 and 2270 Nacht Avenue: and That $8,600 be allocated from the Special Public Works Capital Reserve Fund for this work. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: #request for the installation of concrete barriers was received from the property owner of 2268 Nacht. The owner is concemed about the potential for vehicles driving off Mary Hill Road and hitting their home. They felt that the installation of concrete barriers would provide a form of protection. Following review the Committee requested that a cost estimate be prepared. The Committee considered the Project Technicians memo of May 13, 1993 and approved the installation at an estimated cost of $8,600. It is anticipated that this work will be done by August 1993.
