Stewart made the trip, but Hazelton ran into transportation problems and cancelled out. Girls’ division In past years it’s usually been Clarence Michiel or Cassie Hall _ coming up as champions. This - year it was Uplands and Stewart for the girls. Uplands won ‘A’ side by plac- ing first.in the five-team round- _ Tobin, then beating Cassie Hall 15-6, 15-10 in the best-of-three championship match. Cassie Hall was round-robin Se ae Clarence Michiel ‘two’. ‘RB’ side had seven teams with a split into two divisions for round-robin. The top two’ on each side then advanced to semi- finals, where Stewart knocked out Copper Mountain and Uplands downed Thornhill, In the championship best-of- three, Stewart.won 15-4, 15-7. . They each played a double-knockout with consola- tion games, In the Grade 6 section, Stewart went undefeated to take out Veritas 15-3, 15-10 in the ti- tle match. The girls are hosting a five- team tournament on Friday and Saturday with Smithers, Hazel- ton, Kitimat and Fort St. James coming to town.
