THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM BY-LAW NO, 1622 A By-law to amend the "City of ‘port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1969, No. 918". , The Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlaa, tn open weeting assembled, enacts as follows: . 1. Part I of the "City.cf Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1969, No. 918" is amended by repealing the definition of "GROUP DAY CARE USE contained therein and substituting the following: , : “GROUP DAY CARE USE means a use providing for the care of children in the age group from two to four years old or in the age group from three to five years old for up to ten hours per day in a group size numbering up to twenty-five children in a facility licensed under the Community Care Pacilities Licensing Act." 2. Part I of the By-law is further amended by inserting, in its correct alphabetical order, the following definition: “NURSERY SCHOOL USE means a use providing caze and an enriching experience for children three to five years of age in a group numbering up to twenty ci:ilexen with the three year olds usually attending two sessions a week and the four and five year olds usually attending three sessions per week {each session being of approximately two and one-half hours’ duration) in a facility licensed under the Community Care Facilities Licensing Act.” 3. Part I of the By-law is further amended by repealing the definition "PRE SCHOOL USE" contained therein. Section 501 of the By-law is amended by inserting "RS-1" and "RE~-2" in the table contained therein under the heading "ZONE IN WHICH USE IS PERMITTED" so as to make the use of "GROUP DAY CARE” a permitted use therein. . 5 Section 501 of the By-law is further amended by striking out the word "PRE SCHOOL" where it appears therein and substituting therefor the words "NURSERY SCHOOL” and by inserting "RS-1" and “PS-2" under the. heading “ZONE IN WHICH USE IS PERMITTED" so as to make the use of NURSERY SCUCOL" a permitted use in those zoncs. , & | Subsection 6) of Section 502 of the By-law 4s repealed and the following substicuted therefor: "(9) A GROUP DAY CARE USE (a) in the RS~l and RS-2 ZONES shall noc be Permitted where it is proposed to give care to more than twenty-five children; (b) In the RM-1, RM-2, RM-3 and RM-4 ZONES shall be pernitted only in apartment facilities designed or adapted for such uses and intended to serve residents of the subject building or persons residing {n immediately adjacent RM ZONES or apartment faciliries. (10) A NURSERY SCHOOL USE (a) in the RS-1 and RS-2 ZONES shall not te permitted where it is proposed to give care to more than twenty children; (b) In the RH-1, RM-2, RH-3 and RM-4 ZONES shall be permitted only in apartment facilities designed or adapted for such uses and intended to serve residents of the subject building or persons residing in immediately adjacent RM ZONES or apartnent facilities."
