PRIP-C PACIFIC RIM INITIATIVES PROJECT --CERAMICS The Guild has obtaived funding under the Unemployient Insurance Section 38 Job Creation Program. The objectives of PRIP-C are: To pramote the long range development of B.C. as a Pacific Rim Centre for the production and manufacture of high quality ceramics. To promote and assist expansion of 3,0. ceramic production from a basically cottage industry mode to a more economically viable and industrial mode of production. To promote economic recovery in B.C, by expanding marketinn ogportunities for ceramics and attracting investment in ceramic production. To achieve these objectives the Guild will employ three (3) peeple to perform the following tasks: 1. Sonference and Zxhibition Co-ordinator A. Pursue corporate snonsorshio of exhizitions, trade shows, publications, audio visual material, 2, Technical/ Industrial Researcher A. Research the ceramic industry {e.g. glaze data, computer interface kilns. oroduction factories/ techniques. industrial materials/machinery, current and oroposed hinh- tech developments/research) B&B. Collect and collate this infarmation/ literature and set up filine system, (n.b. information will be accessible to Canadian qovernment/oroanizations/individuals on request, C. Include videns comnleted in cataloque if possible or prepare addendum, The nurpose of these government nronrams is to utilize the skills of unemployed workers lm uwruductive activity while seeking sernanent emoloyment; therefore a particinant may leave the rroject at any time for a permanent job. To qualify vou must be receiving or elioible for Unemoloyment Insurance benefits and will receive an enhanced rate of $318.00 per week. While some traininn will be qiven, vou should have the skills and experience to perform the tasks. Position ? requires knowledge of ceramics but 1 and 3? do not.
