October 18th, 1976 Prior to passage of the above noted resolution, Alderman Laking expressed his opposition to the fact that the City was tying up funds to purchase the entire property when it was only a small portion of the lot that was required for road widening and felt that the owner should have been compensated only for the amount of property required by the City. NEW BUSINESS: | City Clerk re The City Clerk advised that a letter had been received by the Mayor ‘request to dis- ‘continue post. with respect to the City's policy of posting lists of building permits : of Bldg.Permit : lists issued and containing a réquest that it be discontinued due to problems that had arisen, specifically that of the vulnerability to break-in and thefts and further the excessive number of solicitations from tradesmen and suppliers, which wer considered an invasion of privacy. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That the practice of publically posting the lists of building permits issued by the City be discontinued. Carried. ‘'Ald.Thompson re Alderman Thompson referred to the previous discussion of the Untidy ‘amend. to Untidy ; Prem. B/L premises By-law and queried if, in fact, the amendment passed could be enforced with respect to a large agricultural plot of land and it was again pointed out that if a complaint was received as to the existence of noxious weeds on the property, it could definitely be enforced.
