Four equipment suppliers submitted prices for twenty differing configurations of the tendered unit, of which National Machinery of Burnaby (Guzzler Distributor) has provided the lowest price meeting the preferred specifications at $243,586.19. The original cost of the replacement unit was estimated in the amount of $225,000.00, however, after receiving all of the tenders and reviewing the equipment specifications we find the actual cost to be $18,586.19 higher. - Overall, the Equipment Replacement Fund has a surplus of $27,094.00 as a result of savings accumulated from the other equipment purchases in 1992. I would request we use a portion of the surplus to cover the cost of the purchase of tendered unit. Would you kindly review the attached tender package recommendations from Joe Huber our Senior Shop Foreman and request approval of the Public Works Committee to proceed with the purchase of this replacement unit. et 2, Respectfully Submitted,
