March 6, 1989/042 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, March 6, 1989, at 7:30 poem. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, and W.W. Stewart in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk/Deputy Administrator R.A. Freeman, City Engineer T.M. Chong, and Director of Community Planning W.A. Brown. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Stewart: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the minutes of the regular Council meeting held on February 27th, 1989 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. DELEGATIONS = His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Marie Nichols, 3239 Fox Street, who was present to address Council regarding Centennial Pool. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced the following people who wished to address Council regarding the proposed prohibition of open air buruing. Mr. Peter Schaumann, 559 Laurier Avenue would like to see burning remain in the Agricultural Areas as the amount of burning would be to much for garbage pickupand was essential for some agricultural practices. Mr. Lawrence Martin, 3357 Cornwall Street would like to see backyard burning continued as a means of cleaning up gurden refuse not suitable for bundling or packing in garbage bags. Occupant of 2952 Burns Road stressed the fact that certain diseases in farm plants require that burning be done immediately and so would like 15 see burning in the Agricultural Areas. Mr. Tom Ewen, 351 Laurier Avenue stressed the fact that farms create to much garden refuse for garbage pickup and would like to see burning privileges remain in the Agricultural areas. Mayor Traboulay introduced Mr. T. Severud, 1165 Alderwood Place who wished to address Council regarding the diversion of PoCo Trail. Mayor Traboulay informed Mr. Severud that as his item was currently being considered by the Parks and Recreation Committee and as it was not on agenda it would have to wait until a following Council meeting.
