Speaking in opposition to the resolution, Alderman Laking indicated his opinion that funds from this account would be required for acquisition of land for the Dyking Programme which was a definite priority, and therefore should not be expended for park land acquisition. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the recommendation of the Finance Committee in its October 7th, 1976 report that the spaces in the parking lot at 2274 Wilson Avenue be offered on a rental basis to provide reserved stalls renting for $10.00 per month and that the stalls be reserved by a system of numbers to enable policing on the basis that they would be reserved during the period 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and that any unreserved stalls be available for general public parking; be approved.
