Bob Calis as a member of the Fraser River Harbour Commission will expine 1986 October 26. As in the past, one Mayor from one of the municiparities affected in the selection af a Commissioner will contact the Mayor. of each of the remaining municipalities submitting the name of an individual to be appointed as Commissioner for their consideration. Therefore, it gives me great pleasure to nominate Mr, Bob. Cakis for a further three year teu as our Commissioner to the Fraser River Harbour Commission and submit his name to you for consider- ation and ratification by your Councit members. Over the past years, I have had the opportunity of working with Bob in his capacity as Harbour Commissioner and a businessman in the community. He 46 a very civic-minded individual and contributes much of his time to the community in various aspects (4.e. asa member of the Rotary Club). I am awane that you have probably had the opportunity to work with Bob, as have many of our colkeagues, and ane familiar with his professional capabilities. However, in the event that you ot your Counci? members wish to have mone detailed ingormation, I have enclosed a copy of his Acsume, , As per Section 5(4) of the Harbour. Commissions Act, the appointee must be ratified by each municipal CounciƩ and this ratification must cecur within 60 days of the vacancy or other provisions of the Act may be invoked. Abso, in order. to avoid the invoLvement of the Minister of Transport, the nine affected municipalities must be unanimous in their selection.
