V3C 2A8 Dear Mayor Traboulay and Council: A meeting was held on October 1, 1991, batween the Social Development Council and representatives from the councilg of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra. Discussion centred around joint municipal sponsorship of a Community Task Force on Child care Issues. It wag agreed that this proposal would be taken back to individual councils for approval. The overall budget for the Task Force is $328,770 (see attached proposal outline). It was agreed that two thirds of the total costs (approximately $26,000) will be sought from senior levels of government or non-governmental funding sources. Tha remaining one third of the budget ($13,000) is being sought from local municipalities. Since there is potential for | municipalities to contribute $9,720 ag in-kind services, the actual cash request may be as little as $3280. It ig expected that the Simon Fraser Formula would be applied to the cost-sharing plan for this Task Force. However, Anmore and Belcarra have indicated that they would want to participate financially; in this event the Simon Fraser Formula could be adapted to include that participation.
