Re: Bus Loop on Inverness

The Committee considered the attached letter from B.C. Hydro
regarding a change to the bus route in the area of Chelsea and Inverness
Street. Shortly after the reconstructed road on Cedar Drive was opened,’
two B.C. Hydro buses slipped off che road into the corner lot at Cedar
Drive and Inverness while attempting to turn the sharp corner onto Cedar.
Although our landscaping work has reduced the slope at the corner, it
should not -be expected to support buses and therefore the buses would
continue to have a problem.

° The proposed new route is the same as the route used by the
buses during the Cedar Drive construction period and Inverness Street is
in about the same condition on either side of Chelsea Avenue. Essex has
been recently ‘reconstructed -as part of the local improvement project.

. The Committce recommends that the revision to the Lus route be
approved in accordance with the request from B.C. Hydro.
