HEREBY PROCLAIM the month of May 1994 as

"CHILD CARE MONTH"

in the City of Port Coquitlam.

Whereas with the approach of Provincial Mining Week we are reminded of the valuable and
essential contribution mining and its related industries make to the economy and people of
British Columbia;

Whereas Mining Activity occurs in every region of the province directly employing some 35,000
people province wide, and its products impact throughout our daily lives;

Whereas it is necessary to promote public awareness of the importance of mining and the new
role technology plays in keeping the Industry competitive while it maintains a solid commitment
to environment and reclamation standards;

And whereas it is important to increase our knowledge about the Mining Industry through an
increased access to information and to further promote the growth of the Mining Industry;

Now therefore I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Port
Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of May 21st 1994 to May 28th, 1994

“MINING WEEK"
in the City of Port Coquitlam.

Whereas all of us who live in Port Coquitlam are served by Eagle Ridge Hospital and Health
Care Centre, and;

Whereas Eagle Ridge Hospital is recognized for its commitment to patient-centred health care
that is both innovative and extraordinary, and;

Whereas the communities served by Eagle Ridge Hospital are experiencing unprecented growth,
and;
Whereas the Tri-Cities Campaign for Eagle Ridge Hospital seeks to help fund the expansion of

Emergency and Surgical services as well as Seniors Health Care amenities and programs and
Community Education and Outreach prograrns, and;

Whereas the expansion of these services, amenities and programs will help ensure that modem,
efficient and innovative health| care services are readily available and clese at hand for all in our

community;

Therefore, 1, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Port
