SUBJECT: Drainage Problem at 1938 Connaught

Our Utilities Department recently received a complaint from Mr. Nath Mehra
resident of 1938 Connaught, requesting the City fix a drainage problem adjacent to his
property. A five meter by fifteen meter section of boulevard next to the curb in his front
yard is saturated and extremely soft. From the stains on the curb it appears there has been
a drainage problem in this area for some time. My understanding is that approximately
eight years ago our Utilities Deparment installed some type of drain as a result of a similar

drainage problem.

It is recommended that a perforated drain field be installed, as per the attached
sketch at an estimated cost of $4,407. Please forward this request to the Public Works

Committee for their review and approval.

Enclosed is a photograph, an estimate and a drainage sketch.
