This publication fosters a sense of community and is one of the most important aspects of aur guild as far as many members are Cconcermed. Thase queside the lower Mainland (especially in isolated areas) rely on ic to keep chem in couch with their fellow potters and the monch by month activities of the guild. This is information they cannac gee anywhere else. While there is certainly room for a wider body of information extracted from sources which may be unavailable co the general membership, [ wonder at the suggestion thar we are to “look for more changes” to aur newslerter so that ic “reflects the image we want to lend to our community”. hat alarms me, however, is that reducing the number of issues (or producing smaller issues) is being considensd, There are currently no issues being produced during the summer months. Monthly updates from September to May is crucial on everything from workshops, deadlines for grant applications or shows, to informing the membership of important board decisions on which chey may want input. ] hope that members atcending the AGM will give serious thought to how important a regular and informative newsletter is to out organization and that there can be some discussion on this.
