create public plaza on the south side of McAllister at
Maple.

Vehicular circulation and parking are to be improved.

realign Maple so as to connect directly to Wilson, making
the necessary changes to Bury so as to ensure access to
the apartment building.

close the southbound access from Kingsway to
Shaughnessy.

widen Elgin Street west of Shaughnessy.

improve alignment of Donald Street through road
reconstruction.

develop surface parking on City owned lands on the
northeast corner of Shaughnessy and Wilson.

investigate feasibility of acquiring the single-family lands
between Marpole and McAllister and developing them as a
surface parking area in the short term and mixed use
development in the long term.

provide additional parking in the Donald/Wilson area
through the redesign of parking areas.

Facade improvements should concentrate on Shaughnessy Street
north of McAllister and the northwest corner of the
Shaughnessy/Whyte intersection.

Over the short term efforts will be necessary to establish a land
use scheme for the Downtown.

encourage the development of infill properties to retail
commercial use. Infill sites are on the northside of Wilson
east of Donald, on the City owned site at the northeast
corner of Wilson and Shaughnessy, on lands at the
southwest corner of Whyte. and Shaughnessy and on the
vacant lot on the east side of Shaughnessy between
McAllister and Kingsway.

ensure retail commercial uses are developed at the street
level along the north side of McAllister from Maple to
immediately east of Shaughnessy, along the south side of
McAllister betwen the firehall site and Shaughnessy and on
Shaugtinessy north of McAilister. This proposal requires
the redevelopment of existing sites and lot consolidation.

retain ownership of the firehall site on the southeast
corner of Maple and McAllister for purposes of public use
