THE CORPGRATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM U N C | [ 1986 04 93 APR7 - 1986 REPORT TO: B.R. Kirk, City Administrator FROM: K. Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director SUBJECT: Playground Equipment = MeLean Park mendat eterna ee nee ented ey That a small amount of playground equipment, similar to that at Evergreen Park, be installed at MeLean Park. fe} ents: The Parks & Recreation Committee received the attached petition from residents in the immediate area of MeLean Park requesting that consideration be given to the installation of some playground equipment. Over the years, the demographics in the area of McLean Park has changed. There are more families now that have smaller children and no park that is close by with playground equipment. Jamez Park School and Viscount School are the closest area with playground equipment; however, in order to get to these areas, major streets have to be crossed by the children. The Committee is’in agreement that it is necessary to have a more multi-purpose park that has more than just playing fields. The money for the playground equipment is in the 1986 operating budget.
