eer ‘Y SAUER WRONG SIDE GF THe TRACKS ACTICN ASSCCL ATION Your Worship - hiembers of Council We, the members of the Wrong Side of the Tracks Action Association, want to know about the paid patrol for the Hastings Street and Lougheed Highway intersection for September, 1374, We went to school board as you suggested and were told by R, Smith, Secretary Treasurer, that patrols are not under school boards' jurisdiction according to the public schools act. They said that the two other municipalities in School District :48 paid for their patrols and do not see why Port Coquitlam cannot do the same. We understand that there may be new legislation paying for the patrols, but no one seems to know when, The R.C.h.P. know that this intersection is hazardous, but do not have the manpower to patrol the highway, and on Nay 15, 1974 you all agreed that the need of it is there. On June 12, 1974 Alderman Keryluk assisted on an accident at the corners, ‘So, Honourable Members of Council, could you not authorize the patrols, and start the motion going as September 3, 1971 is very close, then once the new ‘Legislation does come through, bill whoever does get charge of the patrols.
