Residents and teachers from Subsroun of Fort CoruitLam Necreational
Gouncil submit the following Brief to tbe nresented to the Port Goquit—
‘Lam Recreational Gouncil in regard to what should be done with the

above mentioned area,

The group felt that the most important idea was that there should be
as little work done as possible - just enough to keep paths in food
walking condition and the area clean and tidy. No publicizing to be
done, no parking areas of any kind provided, or structures built, in-
cluding platforms and treehouses,
(1) It was felt that clean-up could be done either by classes of
school children or by local residents with their children on
a weekend. CGlean-up of the creek itself could be done in the
summer when the water level is low. It was felt that no gar-
bage cans, either at entrances to the nature area or inside
the nature area were necessary,

Existing footpaths should be improved ‘only to make them passable,
‘Any new “cleared areas were deemed unnecessary.

Trail bikes should be banned compl The group realized
that this was a very difficult thi Oo police, but felt that
-Gity. Council misht be prevailed unon LO make it possible for

the police to impound any bikes caught in the park, as well as-
outlaw them from the residential areas completely.

Signs to be erected at six entrance points, outlining that this
was a nature area and the rules and resulations that “had to be
followed therein, (Cony of suggested sign attached)

Foliow up with water resources peonle to guard against creek
running dry in summer. .

News letter to be sent to our local schools, informing
them of the reserve, and thet they are welcome to use
it for field trips, but must otserve the rules and reg
-ulations set up to preserve the same,
