GUILD ADMINISTRATION

Over the past years the Guild has made important
steps towards becoming a more professional
organization. Much of the progress can be attributed
to the input of our Office Manager, Janet Kidnie,
who put in many hours of dedicated work on the
newsletter, finances, and general operation of our
office. Janet resigned at the end of December
essentially because she needed

Making.” We are grateful to John Chalke who juried
our show and to Carol Mayer for producing such and
excellent fold-out catalogue with images and text.
Congratulations also to the membership for
responding so well to the call for entries - there were
72 entries, 56 pieces were actually submitted and 29
pieces were selected.

The Exhibition Committee also organised a small
show of earthenware titled Maialica’Majolica

rather than an increase in sales. Strenuous efforts by
the Marketing Committee were made to reverse the
trend. A new sign and awning were installed to
improve the Gallery’s visibility, the budget for
advertising was increased, the Gallery participated in
the Circle Craft Christmas Market with an
information booth, small display and take away
discount flyers for purchases at the Gallery and more
publicity was sought through the Coffee Cups amd
Java Jugs event and prize draw. Gallery Manager,
