Section. 4¢ shall become 4b(i) with the word ‘especial added in the fifth line before the worde ‘written permit’. (ii) of section 4b shall read: An officer may issue a special permit for open air burning of brush, stumps, Slash and like materiale resulting from the clearing of land. No person to whom a special permit has been issued shall on or in any fire use rubber tires, oil, tar, asphalt shingles, battery boxes, plastic materials or any similar material which may produce heavy black smoke, An officer may refuse to issue a special permit whenever burning, having regard to all the prevailing circumstances, would likely be hazardous or create a nuisance. An officer may also cancel a special permit if in his opinion the fire becomes a hazard and/or creates a nuisance. To replace No. 6: (6) With permit being secured, dry garden and household refuse may be burned outside a residence in a residential zone, in an open fire or arn approved incinerator twice yearly for a period of 1 week only. These two one week periods shall coincide with the City's. spring and fall clean up weeks as designated by the City Council. An approved incinerator shall be equipped with a screen to be not less. than 1/4" or greater than 3/4"! wire mesh to prevent fly ashe Incinerators must not be erected on any street, lane or road allowance. Incinerators shall be located on private property and five (5) feet clear of any combustible material or structure. This regulation Goes not apply to small confined fires used for cooking food in grills and barbecues. . New section to be put into this by~law: ( ) When a building is required to be sprinklered, the sprinkler system shall be installed to conform with National Fire Protection Association pamphlet No, 13. (NFPA No. 13) (a) When ever in the opinion of the Fire Chief or Fire Frevention Officer it is necessary that a sprinkler system be: installed in & building, he shall give notice in writing to the occupant of euch building or premises to forthwith install a sprinkler in auch part of such building os he shall deem adequate for the safety of the occupanta or usera thereof. Such sprinkier system shall be installed in accordance with. (NFPA Noe 13)
