Alderman Traboulay referred to 1981 being the "Year of the Handicapped" and suggested that all City facilities be surveyed regarding access. Recreation Director K.J. Taylor advised the survey has been carried out and will be made available to the Council. Alderman Muldoon expressed appreciation to Council for their support of the "Meals on Wheels" program for homebound people. Alderman Muldoon advised she and Alderman Gates recently attended a conference on "Abused Women in the Home". Alderman Muldoon referred to the R.C.M.P. March report and expressed concern regarding the increase of thefts and sexual assaults. Alderman Muldoon advised she had attended several Senior Citizen activities sponsored by the Kinsmen. Alderman Mabbett expressed concern regarding trucks parking in the Agricultural Land Reserve area and asked that this be looked into. Alderman Mabbett expressed concern regarding illegal truck parking and referred to the break-in at the bowling alley on Sunday evening and stated he was advised there were no R.C.M.P. officers on duty at that time. Alderman Mabbett advised he has received complaints of incidents occurring in front of Fred's Arcade on Shaughnessy Street, a stolen cac from Hawthorne Lodge being stored without the owner being notified and asked that this be looked into. Alderman Mabbett referred to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference regarding possible delegates.
