SUBJECT: 1993 West Coast Disaster Response Conference

RECOMMENDATION:

THAT the Emergency Services Coordinator, Garry Manning be permitted to
attend the above one-day conference being held June 3 1993 in the Coast
Plaza at Stanley Park.

AND THAT the cost of $165.00 be taken from previously approved budget
funds in the Emergency Services Program account.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS :

See attached brochure for program content. The City's former Emergency
Services Coordinator, Chief Fire Prevention Officer Terry Clarke highly
recommends this conference as a valuable tool for training the present
coordinator.

NOTE: The cost is $165.00 provided it is paid before May 15, after that
date it would be $190.00.
