SUBJECT: CURB AND GUTTER REPLACEMENT - EAST SIDE OF THE
2300 BLOCK OF SHAUGHNESSY
(Public Works Committee Meeting of Jume 23, 1992)

That Council approve the replacement of 12.5 metres of curb and gutter plus the
replacement of the catch basin grate on Shaughnessy Street in front of Elks Park at

an estimated cost of $1,000.

That $1,000 be allocated from the special Public Works Capital Reserve Fund for
this purpose.

The developer of the new condominium project at 2380 Shaughnessy Street is reconstructing the
curb, gutter and sidewallc directly in front of his property. The developer has offered to
reconstruct the sidewalk plus curb and gutter for a distance of 12.5 metres south of his property
(adjacent to Elks Park) provided that the City pay for the curb and gutter portion of the work. At
present the sidewalk plus curb and gutter on Shaughnessy in front of Elks park is not in good
condition because vehicles have been using this area as a lane access in the past.
