THE CORPORATION OF THE CIYY OF PORT COQUITLAM TO BR. Kirk DATE: January City Administrator FROM: I.R. Zahynacz, P. Eng. City Engineer SUBJECT: SIMON FRASER HEALTH UNIT PARKING REQUEST (Public Works Committee Meeting, January 15, 1991 Recommendations: That the City of Port Coquitlam change parking permits fees for reserve parking spaces on City parking lots from $10.00 per month to $5.00 per month, or $50.00 per year per parking spot. Background & Comments: The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum from the Project/Traffic Technician regarding a letter dated October 17, 1990 regarding a request from the Simon Fraser Health Unit asking for free parking for Health Unit Staff at the City Parking Lot located directly west of the Simon Fraser Health Unit on Wilson Avenue. , The Committee noted that only three of the existing 33 parking spaces are presently being used by permit holders wha pay $10.00 per month/stall for these reserved parking spaces. The Committee feit that this parking lot was presently under~utilized and that a reduction in parking fees would result in more vehicles utilizing the parking lot. Ie was noted that more street parking would be available in the downtown area as addition reserve parking spaces are utilized in off-street parking lots. A parking nit fee of $5.00 per month or $50.00 per year is considered a more appr ate fee structure. This fee structure should also apply to the City owmne «rking lot located behind the Legion. fi / 4 /{ — IRZ: ge Attachments
