SUBJECT: Expense allowance - B. Slocombe.

RECOMMENDATION;

That the allowance paid to Mr. Slocombe for gas and oil for
his vehicle be increased from $33.33 per month to $60.00 per month for the
second year of his contract (starting November 1, 1981).

BACKGROUND:

Article 10 in our contract with Mr. Slocombe states that we
will provide $400 per year ($33.33 per month) towards the cost of gas and
oil for the City vehicle he drives, Mr. Slocombe finds he is into his own
pocket for approximately $20.00 per month and requests a review of this
rate. While I have recommended a rate exceeding his present costs, I am
sure there will be additional gas price increases in the next year.
