Abdurrahman Mohammed, Zanzibar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, has charged that certain interests which would like to see intervention against the island republic are fabricating stories about the recent revolution hav- ing an anti-Arab character. **We reject this dirty slander,’’ he stated. ‘‘Our revolutionisan- ti-feudal and pursues social aims. *‘In 1952, the Egyptian people overthrew King Farouk who was an Arab, but nobody tried to say that it was an anti-Arab action. There is no ground to ascribe this to our people either. “The Sultan overthrown by the revolution was a Zanzibar Far- ouk.”’ Mohammed pointed out that the two political parties ‘‘Afro- -Shirazi’’ and ‘‘Umma,’’ which formed the new coalition gov- ermment, are co-operating in building a new Zanzibar. *‘The government. of Zanzibar intends to carry out a number of important economic reforms. We shall give land to the peasants, that is, to those who will till it,’’ he said. “We intend to change the lop- sided colonial nature of the Zanzibar rejects slanders country’s economy.
