December 13th, 1976 ‘Ald .Mabbett Moved by Alderman Mabbett: re upgrading iprogramme-S/ Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: lighting-Shaughnessy That all funds derived by the City in the year 1976 from soil iStreet removal royalties be carried over and allocated in the 1977 Provisional Budget for the specific purpose of upgrading the streetlighting on Shaughnessy Street on a phased programme. Carried. C5 Alderman Keryluk voted against the resolution. * A discussion ensued, and Alderman Laking pointed out that even this year services will have to be cut back to keep within 8% of last year's = assessment, and stated he was opposed to designating moneys now for specific purposes when higher priorities may be found for it next year, and Alderman Ranger indicated he agreed with the view expressed by 1 Alderman Laking; however, while Alderman Thompson pointed out that the ! allocation specified can, removed if necessary when the Budget is considered in February of next year, Alderman Keryluk stated he felt the proposal I | should be presented to Council in report form. |Ald.
