an a Cae § ; ; i Mayor and Council March 29, 1973 on a loau basis and can instruct the owners on ways of marking their property. The District of Coquitlam have estimated that $750.00 would carry out the program and in our case the cost would be proportionately less. The District have offered to include us when ordering pamphlets and decals in order to take advantage of quantity discounts. It is estimated that $300.00 would cover the cost of the program in Port Coquitlam. I have attached some of the information received from the R.C.M.P. for Council's information. I have discussed the program with Staff Sergeant McHale of the North Vancouver R.C.M.P. Detachment who advises that the program has been fairly successful in the Capilano area in North Vancouver where they have experienced a considerable reduction in breaking and entering cases since the program was started. I£ the Council would be prepared to authorize the expenditure of approximately $300.00 the local R.C.M.P. Detachment would undertake to implement the program. 3. City's Insurance Coverage I mentioned in a memo to Council two weeks ago that I would be proceeding with the renewal of the City's insurance coverage stating that in view of the fact that the Provincial Government were entering the Motor Vehicle Insurance field I would © probably be renewing for the balance of the policy year with our present agent. Upon pursuing the matter I found that there was an opportunity to save on premium costs in the Fleet Coverage and I therefore called for proposais from our present company and from the firm of J.T. O'Bryan & Co. This firm presently handles our group life coverage. The two quotations were as follows: total premium Dorgan & Clark Insurance Service $17,692.00 J.T. O'Bryan & Co. $15,561.00 In view of the foregoing I have proceeded with the firm of J.T. O'Bryan & Co. and I would ask Council to officially appoint this firm as Broker of Record’ for the City for the ensuing policy year.
