Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the report of the Finance Committee, April 3rd, 1979 being Statements of Accounts Payable in the amount of $30,578.87, be approved. Carried. From Alderman Ranger, April 9th, 1979 advising receipt of a petition from residents of Paula Place regarding the reinstatement of the chain at the south end of Paula Place as had been established by Coquitlam School District No. 43. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That School District No. 43 be requested to re-establish a chain across the south end of Paula Place; AND THAT the necessary keys be supplied to the R.C.M.P. and the Fire Department. Carried. Prior to paseage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Ranger gave a brief explanation on the history of the chain across Paula Place. Alderman Ranger stated that when Hazel Trembath School was built School District No. 43 established a chain across the entrance to the school as a security measure and with removal of the chain the residents on Paula Place are being inundated with cars, and recreational vehicles. From the Planning and Zoning Committee, April 5th, 1979 advising of the present. rezoning fees charged for rezoning applications which is in two parts, the first part being a non-refundable charge based on $2.00 per 1,000 square feet of site area to be rezoned, with a minimum charge of $100.00, the second part of the fee is $100.00 for the Public Hearing which is refundable if the application does not proceed as far as Public Hearing. Upon recent analysis it has been determined that the costs relating to a Public Hearing for newspaper advertising and mailing of individual Public Wearing notices is approximately $400.00 and the Committee recommends that the Public Hearing charge for each rezoning application be increased to $400.00.
