recorded an expression of deep regret and sympathy and sent a letter
containing such sentiments to the senator's widow. Lust week the council

received a reply and a characteristic portrait from Ethel Kennedy. Both

Council Chamber on Saturday
night ten minutes after the polls
had closed and the metal ballot
boxes had disgorged their flut-
tering pink contents representing
the mind and will of 734 people.
One thousand two hundred and
eighteen other persons had not
