A 28° sloop on it’s way to take part in this regatta was driven ashore in Cadboro Bay and instead of the nearly 100 boats expected to participate. only 26 crossed the starting line on Sunday morning. A number of . skippers had thought that the entire regatta had been cancelled.on Saturday morning instead of just the first race. Those that did take part had good sailing weather with winds ranging from 5 to 20 knots and close competition. all: the way. Final results and: prizes. for the first five boats will be awarded at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club on Friday, March 12. This inland water yacht club is doing a great job for the whole in’ providing training for voung sailors under an ideal environment and at the same. time improving the_faci- lities of this public park.
