BY JILL GRIFFITHS Our first concert in Mayfair for B.C. House was held at ‘‘The Inn on The Park” and it was a suc- prominent businessmen in one of rooms at the Inn. Tuesday morning brought an early breakfast and: rehearsal, followed in the afternoon by a concert at St. Martin-in-the Fields, church in Trafalgar Square. We ate lunch in town and headed for another concert. at Orpington, Kent. .This concert had a bad start, for as we were about to leave our pianists hadn’t showed up. Thoughts of all sorts of things ran through our minds, but we were relieved when we saw them running. down® the Street, their’ arms full -of packages. They had been trapped were able to perform at the concert. On Wednesday we packed o our Kingston-Upon-Hull, a five-hour bus ride from-London. The Easter weekend proved to be -exciting for .everyone.. On Good Friday. the choir sang in the chapel of St. John the Evangelist in the great: White Tower of the Tower..of London. Easter means. a_ three-week holiday for all school children, consequently our visit to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guard. was.a hectic one. There were hundreds of people. standing in every conceivable place to try..and catch a glance of the procession. The. ‘choir. members. were, however, given special. per- mission to stand in the forecourt. of the palace and watch it at first hand. ~On Sunday morning we went to St. Peter’s Chapel in the Tower and followed the Easter Sunday Service, and afterward had lunch. at the: “Tower.
