HYDRANTS

Sidney council Monday evening
approved the installation of a fire
hydrant on Fifth Street. Mayor
Stan Dear said that although it
was policy of the Town to pur-
chase two hydrants. each year,
only one hydrant was to be in-
‘stalled this year and one was
installed the: previous year.

.... Alderman Fred Robinson made
~ a motion that the Town purchase
two hydrants each year to have
on hand for the fire department to
locate in conjunction with a
master plan. Council approved
the motion.

' Alderman Hugh Hollingworth
said that ideally the fire
department would like to have a

The. regular - meetings of
Branch No. 25 will begin on Sept.
and at 2 p.m.in K of P Hall, 4th
St., at the present time we do not
know when we will begin meeting
in the Senior Citizens Centre on
-Resthaven Drive.

We have enjoyed several bus

trips thru the summer and also
held two social meetings in K of P

Hall, both with good attendance.

We were allotted one bus for
trip to P.N.E. ‘‘Golden Age Day”
on’ Aug. 31st which is now sold

Programs

The Senior. Citizen’s : Activity
Activity Centre will be virtually
complete by the end of the month
Mayor Stan Dear announced in
his Public Works report to Sidney
council Monday evening. All that
remains to be done is the paving
of the parking area and land-
scaping.

He also. reported that the
resurfacing work on Rest Haven
Drive has been completed. The
next public works project the
Town will undertake is the
grading of the eastern edge of
MacDonald Park Road and the
installation of a black ‘top
sidewalk from Ardwell to the
North Saanich Senior r Secondary
School.
