After Pidai®eton Island, Bella
Bella turned into a two-day stop.
We collected mail, wrote letters,
washed clothes and showered in

bay to New Bella Bella, a thriving
Indian. settlement: Warm,
friendly: smiles and “‘hello’s”

BUSTLE WITH PREPARATIONS

Saanichton Fairgrounds are
bustling this week in preparation
for the 1038rd North and South
Saanich Agricultural Fair on
September 4, 5 and 6. Record
crowds are expected to visit the
27. sections of exhibits, thrill: to
chariot racing and ride the
midway.

Adjacent to the main exhibition
building a new $17,000 ad-
ministration centre has just been
completed. Built with. much
volunteer labor, the new office
will enable Fair manager Henry
Robinson . and _ his. staff : Stella
Watson and Joan Reed to handle
paper work and the many
minute-to-minute problems with
efficiency.

“cessful country fairs.

The 200-member North and
South. Saanich Agricultural
Society has worked hard during
the. year, organizing . the
catalogue, writing. in new sec-
tions and arranging a three-day
program of entertainment.
“Theme of the 103rd Fair’ is
“Salute to the Pioneers’ and all
sections will compete for a prize
- awarded for best decoration in
this theme.
