Over the years the Susies have donated upwards of $15,000 to the maintenance and improvement of Sanscha Hall. The money has come mainly through the highly successful annual bazaar and projects such as sponsoring the Rae Burns dance recitals, selling “‘Joe’s Notebooks’, running the summer playground for two years, and renting of cushions originally made by the Susies. The first bazaar was held in 1960 by a group of women to raise enough money to buy tiles to put down for the New. Year's Eve dance at Sanscha. From this nucleus of women the Sanscha Susies were formed under the leadership of Mrs.. Phyllis Levar, Over the years there have been approximately 14 members and from 1965 Mrs. Owen Thomas has been president. Present mem- bership includes: Mrs. A.
