Officially called “the Central
Saanich Cross Country Race, the
event is organized each year by
Hovey Road resident Basil
Parker - a task from which he
appears to derive much joy.

The smile on Mr. Parker’s face
when he describes the two feot
deep water holes and added fun of
a few more deadfalls across the
trail is a very merry one indeed.

In his. published advice to
prospective entrants Mr.. Parker
does. not exaggerate when he
says, “If you. haven’t. done so
already, start training now! This
Central Saanich course is a very
gruelling one, and you must be fit
to tackle it!”
