Showing the colors of Christmas; red and green, the tropical poinsettia adorns many homes at the holiday Season. Though it is now a favorite holiday houseplant, the poinsettia is a relative newcomer to the customs of Christmas. It was discovered by, and later named for, Joel R. Poin- sett.
