The Sidney and North Saanich Branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library is a popular place for readers of all ages. Right now, though, children are featured in two displays which are attracting a great deal of attention. One is a large exhibit on Ancient Egypt -a research project by the Grade 7 pupils of Sidney School, supplemented with library books, pictures and other materials on the subject. The other is a collection of pictures, essays and models by children describing their ideal playgrounds. This is a Playground Contest sponsored by the Sidney Lions Club. The photos ‘above, taken by Library. staff members, show a- group of young readers enjoying the carpet and. cushions, not. to - mention the good books, provided in the library; and the Grade 7 Egypt exhibit.
