The two local sporting-goods stores say they cannot keep up with the demand for the status- conscious 10-speed light- weight machine and one maintains it has sold more bicycles for adults than for children this year. A Canadian. manufacturer has said that North America has the highest per capita rate ) of bicycle use and this is born _out of Peninsula residents who may be seen toting children. and groceries, or simply joy- riding in all weathers.
