Council members approved the trail maps, drawn by Linda Gilke- son, at a recent planning, zoning and parks committee meeting. Council also approved the maps at a later meeting. The committee recommended a note be included with the tax notice to let residents know the maps are available. *x* & & A waterfront linear park desig- nation on Towner Bay Country Club should be removed from the North Saanich community plan, the planning, zoning and parks committee recommended recently. The recommendation was approved by North Saanich coun- cil. Municipal engineer Igor Zahyn- acz said putting in a waterfront linear park would be very expen- Sive as existing buildings would have to be moved, retaining walls constructed and rock slopes blasted. The committee suggested some park designation be placed on the property, in case the strata-title development is ever subdivided, but that staff word the designation so no specific park site is identi- fied.
