Harry will be fondly remembered by his wife Kay, sister Louise Gordon, brother Alix Johannes, numerous relatives and friends. Harry was born and raised in Marsden, Sas- katchewan, and farmed there until join- ing the RCAF. After serving his country in the Second World War he moved to the Yukon. For part of his 40 years in the North, Harry ran the first bowling alley in Whitehorse. He and his partners in General Enterprises were involved in many road construction projects in the Yukon, Alaska and Northem B.C. which helped open up the region. Some of his most enjoyable times were’ spent pro- specting in the Yukon wildemess. Harry was a member of the Yukon Order or Pioneers, the Yukon Prospectors Asso- ciation, and the Elks Lodge. He served as president of the Fish and Game Association, and in 1989 was inducted into the Yukon Prospectors Hall of Fame. Harry was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 38 years. As a Shriner, Harry's greatest commuity ser- vice was to help cripplied children. He worked for the crippled children up until the day before he passed away. Harry retired to Sidney, B.C. in 1987. Memorial services were held on Wed- nesday, July 4, 1990 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of First Memorial Funeral Ser- vices, 4725 Falaise Drive, Royal Oak.
