Baskets and boxes full of Albert Wardle’s dried flowers fill the room, their colors as bright as the FLOWERS FILL the living room of Albert and Lilian Waradle’s Sidney home as the coupie prepare for the Peninsula Community Association craft fair this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday all of the crafts — flowers, woodwork and hand knit sweaters — will move to Sanscha Hall in Sidney for the Peninsula Community Association’s 11th annual craft fair. The Wardles are among the over 100 crafts people participating in the fair, held from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Nov. 24 and 25. This is the Wardles’ fourth year in the fair. ““We’ve been able to clear enough each year to cover a trip back to Thunder Bay for a visit with our family,” Lilian says. However many hours of work go into producing the crafts for the fair. Lilian has produced 50 sweaters, including some delicate babies’ jacket and bootee sets, for this year’s fair. She tries to keep prices low by buying wool on sale and taking little return for the hours of effort involved in producing a sweater.
