Save your bottles and telephone books
for a Girl Guide and Boy Scout bottle and
telephone book drive Jan. 12, from 10 am
to 1 pm. Profits from the drive will help
maintain the Guide and Scout Hall.

SAVE AND SOUND

The free Safe and Sound Wildemess
Survival program will be offered starting
Jan. 7 at St. Elizabeth Parish Hall on Third
Street in Sidney. The six-week program
meets for an hour every Monday and
Wednesday and is open to children aged
three to eight years. The program is
designed to teach children how to survive if
they are lost in the wildemess. Twelve
hours of role playing is followed by over-
night trip in the woods. Each child taking
the program must be accompanied by a
parent. The program is sponsored by the
Knights of Columbus. For information, call

SAANICH PIONEERS

The Saanich Pioneers Society meets
every Monday from 9 am to 2 pm at 7910

Save the Children Fund Christmas Cards
are now available in Sidney at the Village
Gallery on Beacon Avenue and at the PCA
Thrift Shop on Third Street. In Brentwood
the cards are available in Maples Gallery,
Benvenuto Avenue. Proceeds to support
development projects in Canada and in
third-world countries.

Choir sings Chrisimas program

A Christmas Candlelight Cele-
bration, featuring the 30-voice
mixed choir of St. Paul’s United
Church, will be presented in the
church tonight.

The performance starts at 7:30
p.m. in the church at 2410 Malav-
iew Avenue in Sidney.

Included on the hour-long pro-
gram are carols by the choir
Audience members will be able to
join in some of the numbers.

Admission is free although there
will be a silver collection. All are
welcome to attend.
