TheReview Wednesday, January 23, 1991 C7 Horth Hill set for expansion Horth Hill Regional Park in North Saanich could become big- ger after council passed two bylaws Monday — paving the way for the Capital Regional District to purchase about 6.5 acres of private land historically attached to the park. - The decision came after a public hearing was held into the rezoning: of two parcels of property, a 6.5 acre parcel immediately south of the park that was rezoned existing park from rural, and another lot, just over three acres, rezoned resi- dential (minimum one acre lot) from rural. The bylaw will allow the CRD, to purchase the land now rezoned as existing park. North Saanich Mayor Maurice Chazottes said the 2.32 hectares (6.5 acres) next to Horth Hill Regional Park is littered with horse and walking trails the public has used for many years, believing it to be park property when it is private. Municipal clerk Joan Schill said the residentially-zoned 1.48 (3.7 acres) hectare property can be subdivided and sold into no more than three lots. : CE FULLY INSU LTIC TREE SERVIC - DANGEROUS TREE REMOVAL - TOPPING FOR SAFETY « SELECTIVE LOT CLEARING - COMPLETE TREE SERVICE MALCOLM RICHARDS RED FREE ESTIMATES 656-9312 Sidney Prices Effective Jan. 22-26/91 We Reserve the Right to Limit Quantities 2531 BEACON AVE. “Sidney By the Sea” FOODS 964] WE WOULD LIKE TO SALUTE OUR HYDRO & ROAD MAINTENANCE CREWS FOR THE GREAT JOB THEY DID DURING THE RECENT LOUSY WEATHER!
