GEARY, MABEL, passed away on
March 11, 1991 at the Saanich Penin-
sula Hospital. She was predeceased by
her husband, Joseph. Mabel is sur-
vived by her nephew, Philip Geary, his
wife, Sallie and their two children,
Andrew and Wendy, all of Stafford,
England and by many friends here. A
Memorial Service will be held at the
Brentwood Anglican Chapel at Bren-
twood Bay on Wednesday, March 20th,
1991, at 12 Noon with Rev. Alstair
Petrie officiating. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to
the Canadian Cancer Society, 2206

ROBERTS, MILDRED EVA (Millie), a
native daughter of North Saanich,
passed away peacefully at Oak Bay
Kiwanis Pavilion on March 14, 1991 at
the age of 96. She was the duaghter of
Rufus and Alice Horth, granddaughter
of Henry and Sarah Wain. Millie moved
to Sidney in 1916 at the time of her
marriage to Samuel (Sam) Roberts
who founded S. Roberts Agency in
1912. Following the death of her hus-
band in 1943 Millie carried on the
business until 1952 when she sold it to
Gordon Hulme Ltd. She was also pre-
deceased by four sisters and five
brothers. Millie is survived by her son
Louis and his wife Shirley, one grand-
son, David and-his wife Donna, also
many relatives and friends. Millie was a
Life Member Saanich Pioneer Society,
Past Matron and Life Member of the
Eastern Star, Ruth Chapter #22. She
also served on the Sidney Village Com-
mission from 1961 to 1963. Private
funeral service will be conducted in
Holy Trinity Church, Patricia Bay. Inter-
ment in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Flowers
gratefully declined; donations if desired
may be made to the Oak Bay Kiwanis
Pavilion, 3034 Cedar Hill Rd. Victoria,
B.C. V8T 32.
